It's the televised guilty pleasure of the season. The family wanted an intimate ceremony, but in exchange for substantial financial compensation, they've accepted - like the good scrupulous souls that they are. If Saturday's afternoon TV flick gets boring, we'll log on to 'life, live'. Plus, I have to say it: though the streaming may seem an obscene act in this case, it's also the only way for millions of fans to say goodbye to her.

I'm sorry, but I've got better things to do on a Saturday, like watching Michael Fassbender in the haunting “Shame”. Whitney Houston doesn't interest me at all, except for her Diogenes period, so I would never watch her funeral, no matter how poor the weekend's TV programming. Furthermore, I would like to express my outrage with the indie universe for paying tribute to a woman who has taken cheesiness to a whole new level: Chris Owens, next time you sing “I Will Always Love You”, do it in the shower and not on a stage.
