Canadian producer Deadbeat, without a doubt one of the capital figures of modern dub-techno, will be releasing a new album in a week. “ Eight” is, yes, the eighth full-length by Scott Monteith, the first one recorded in his new studio in Berlin, and the second to be released on his own BLKRTZ label. The record, featuring collaborations with Danuel Tate, Mathew Jonson, and Dandy Jack, boasts eight new compositions influenced by the space they were created in (an old industrial warehouse), and by the new Moog and Prophet 600 that Monteith added to his studio. The result is a solid, heavy sound, far from the nebulous, weightless character of his previous recordings, more visceral than ever. “Eight” will be out on 10th September on digital and triple vinyl. Listen to it after the jump.
