A week from now, Ghostly will release “Beams”, the fifth album by chameleon Matthew Dear. A first listen confirms that, as the label claimed earlier, this album is brighter and less asphyxiating than its predecessor, “ Black City” (Ghostly, 2010). It's also his most varied LP to date, on which, even though the sound is still that of electronic glam-pop, he fully embraces the precepts of rock, on songs like “ Earthforms” and "Get The Rhyme Right". Dear is thus giving his pop mutations a new twist, with a bigger role for the lyrics than ever. Here we leave you with the full album stream.
