Luck comes to Irish musician James Kelly in pairs. The brain behind Altar of Plagues, an experimental black-leaning metal project with varying members, Kelly has now struck out on his own as WIFE. This venture, which tends more towards dreamier electronica—although deep down it’s equally dark—has just gotten underway, and there are already two labels wanting to release his songs. Left_blank, the collective label that Throwing Snow forms a part of, will release his first songs. They will be out on 12th November on an EP titled “ Stoic”. If you need a clue, we’ll tell you that the label describes his music as gothic 2step, cold mantras and industrial crescendos. In 2013, Wife will release his second title on Tri Angle, a label where his music seems to fit in perfectly.
To help you familiarise yourself with his proposal, we’ll leave you here with a preview of his debut EP and the video of one of the cuts on it, “ Bodies”.
