Thurston Moore has found a way to pass the time while he's deciding what to do with Sonic Youth. He's just announced he's started a new band, Chelsea Light Moving, with Samara Lubelski (Jackie-O Motherfucker) on bass, Keith Wood ( Hush Arbors) as second guitarist, and John Moloney (Sunburned Hand Of The Man) on drums. They'll let us know about their debut album shortly, to be released on Matador. In the meantime, we can listen to one of the tracks, “ Burroughs”, which was the first song they recorded (last spring, somewhere in West Massachusetts) and which is, of course, inspired by William S. Burroughs. The sound is very close to that of Sonic Youth.
