Four months ago, Tashaki Miyaki came to us with “Somethin’ Better Than Nothin ’”, a sunny pop song with some sharp and dark edges, like a cross between Best Coast and The Jesus & Mary Chain. Apart from the fact that they are from California, little more is known about the band. But the important thing is that they've just announced that their self-titled debut EP will be out via T he Sounds Of Sweet Nothing on the 31st of October, on vinyl and digital. The release will feature four tracks, among which is the aforementioned song. Furthermore, bonus tracks will be available on the band's Bandcamp page, including a Buddy Holly cover.
As an appetiser, they bring us the video for “Somethin’ Better Than Nothin’”, directed by Juan Iglesias, in which a pretty girl is swimming on the bottom of the sea, among jellyfish and other submarine creatures. Get the track here.
