4AD has just announced the release of “Bisch Bosch”, a new studio album from the elusive, brilliant Scott Walker, which will be his first since his acclaimed “The Drift” (2006). As the label explains, Walker started working on the album in 2009, recording it in sporadic sessions over the course of the last three years. Although there aren’t any advances out yet, it seems that the work will delve more deeply into harsher, tenser, and swampier terrain than the aforementioned “The Drift”, with a sound that is a bit more colourful, with the accent placed on abrasive guitars, digital keyboards, and “heavy silences”. The release of “Bisch Bosch” is slated for 3rd December. To the right of these lines, we leave you the tracklist and cover art, the work of painter Ben Farquharson.
