After a few singles on Post Present Medium and 100% Silk, SFV Acid (alias Zane Reynolds) will release his first album, “ #2”, on 26th June via PPM - the label directed by Dean Spunt ( No Age). However, fans waiting for new material will have to wait, as his album is actually a compilation of old material he previously released on tapes he left “in random places throughout the San Fernando Valley including Goodwill, Pierce Community College, In and Out Burger and Starbucks ”, when he was at Highland Hall High.
The music is, therefore, not too far removed from what he's been producing since 2007. Armed with pieces of classic hardware like the 303, the 808 and an MPC, Reynolds makes a divergent and lo-fi brand of electronic dance music, oscillating between acid rhythms, and more abstract experiments. The first pressing of the album will be of 1000 vinyl copies and 500 CDs.
