Sub Rosa Is Compiling Don Preston's Most Experimental Work

“Filters, Oscillators & Envelopes 1967-82” is out now

Known as one of the key figures in Frank Zappa’s career, as the keyboardist of The Mothers Of Invention, American musician Don Preston has always shown a particular interest in pure electronic experimentation. Influenced by artists like Luciano Berio and Karlheinz Stockhausen, Preston started to develop his own electronic instrument in the mid-sixties, using it as an escape valve for his own adventurous impulses. And that's exactly the work compiled on Filters, Oscillators & Envelopes 1967-82”, a collection of previously unreleased material that confirms Preston's role as a pioneer of unrestricted experimentation. The record is out now on Sub Rosa.
