Jeff Mills, the magician of techno, has prepared a compilation that looks to be indispensable for lovers of the genre who prefer CD to vinyl. “ Sequence: Axis Retrospectiv”, as one senses from its title, is a retrospective that brings together some of the most significant releases of his most active label, Axis, in chronological order, although there is also space for Purpose Maker (“ Kat Moda EP ” won’t be on it, we warn you). Every year since its founding in 1992 and until this 2012 is well represented. The compilation opens with “ The Tranquilizer EP ” by H&M, an alliance formed by Robert Hood and Mills himself, recovering a part of the alternative soundtrack that they created for “ Metropolis” (also a live recording from the end of the 90s at the legendary Parisian club Rex), and offers some of the DJ tools that he has shared in recent years. The release will include a libretto with notes from the producer in which he will explain the concepts behind each one of the cuts selected for this retrospective. For the moment, the date of release for this double CD is unknown, but it shouldn’t take long to get here.
