Via FACT, we’ve found out about Desire Records’ plans to reissue “Monotonprodukt 07”, the second album of the Monoton project, the alias of Austrian artist Konrad Becker. The album originally appeared in 1982 and is considered by many as one of the most influential works of electronic music in the last three decades. In its minimalistic approach and its faded textures, the album anticipated the type of sound that projects like Basic Channel or the first wave of Kompakt artists would adopt decades later. The album’s first run was only 500 copies, so it soon became a sought-after object for collectors and electronica lovers. In 2003 it was reissued on CD, but now it will be available on vinyl again for the first time since its release. This new pressing is a double LP with the original artwork in an edition of 300 copies. We leave you here with the album’s tracklist and one of the cuts on it.
