The time has come for the third of the four-part series "Views Of Saturn", an initiative promoted by Irish label All City Records to pay homage to the great guru of cosmic jazz, Sun Ra. It is a mini-series of four titles in which one of the legendary artist’s songs is paired with a reinterpretation by a contemporary producer. The first was Ras G & The Alkebulan Space Program, and then it was Austin Peralta’s turn. Now comes Machinedrum, who has chosen "Door Of The Cosmos" and "Mu" for the occasion, combining them into a single cut full of jungle breaks that shake their way through clearly psychedelic rarefied atmospheres. The 12", which still doesn’t have a release date, but which is already on some online sales platforms, is topped off by the original "Door Of The Cosmos" on the back.
To satisfy your acoustic curiosity, the only thing that we can offer you is in this link and it’s an extract of the New York producer’s work. You can see the design of the cover of "Views Of Saturn #3" to the right of these words, and recall Austin Peralta’s venture a few lines down.
