Five years after confirming himself to be one of the little geniuses of baroque pop (that isn’t too overdone) on the indispensable “Night Falls Over Kortedala” (Service/Secretly Canadian, 2007) - and months after the EP “An Argument With Myself ” which broke his long silence - the Swede Jens Lekman has everything ready to come back through the front door with “I Know What Love Isn’t”.
The album will be out on 4th September, through Secretly Canadian. It will include ten previously-unreleased songs that the author announces will be more restrained in terms of orchestral arrangements. Taking delicacy as the main pattern for this new sound venture that speaks candidly about disappointment in love, the artist bares himself as never before, both musically and emotionally. Or at least that’s what they say. We leave you with the cover, the tracklist and “ Erica America”, the first advance taken from one of the most anxiously awaited LPs for lovers of pop with soul.
