Sub Pop says that if we hadn't yet had the chance to get to know their new signing, Australian four-piece band Husky, it's because the band aren't interested in doing anything regarding the promotion of their music. They prefer to focus on what they do best: crafting beautiful songs. The four, in spite of their different individual tastes, share a love for classic sounds and rich harmonies by people like Crosby Stills & Nash, The Doors and Neil Young. They used a rundown bungalow as their base camp while writing the thirteen songs of their first album, which promises a wealth of acoustic timbres, infectious harmonies, psychedelics and luscious brass.
“ Forever So”, mixed by Noah Georgeson ( Joanna Newsom, The Strokes), will be out on 10th July. Listen to one of the tracks, the lively and brightly textured folk-pop piece “ History’s Door”, below.
