After making a name for himself with singles like “ Solace / Colossus ” and the EP “ Fragile”, young South-Londoner Halls is about to put out a debut album for No Pain In Pop. As the label explains, “ Ark” is an album with an evocative sound and an introspective heart, a “dramatic, emotional study about loss and modern anxiety”. It contains eleven songs in which Howard’s deep voice is wrapped in electronic mantles woven around delicate rhythms and abysmal atmospheres that show influences ranging from The xx to Mount Kimbie including Burial or Thom Yorke’s “ The Eraser”.
The release will be out this coming 15th of October, and for the moment, we can only hear a painfully short “trailer” of the album. Here we leave it for you, along with the tracklist and cover art.
