Finders Keepers Debuts A New Label And Compilation

Cache Cache kicks off with a collection of Irish post-punk

Reputed British platform Finders Keepers - dedicated to finding hidden treasures in the fields of psychedelia, jazz, folk and avant-garde music - has just started a new subsidiary label: Cache Cache. The first title will be Strange Passion”, a compilation dedicated to “explorations in Irish post-punk DIY and electronic music 1980-83. Commissioned by Darren McCreesh, from Dublin collective B-Music, the collection features 14 tracks by bands like Virgin Prunes, Dogmatic Element, The Threat, The Peridots and Major Thinkers, among others. Which means styles will range from minimal synth and gothic post-punk to new wave, all with a straightforward, urgent spirit. All tracks have been taken from self-released cassettes and extremely limited 7”s, so for many it will be the first time they can ever hear the material. The release will feature extensive liner notes and a good selection of photos, contributed by the bands themselves. Due out in July.
