On 21st January, Esben And The Witch are releasing “Wash the Sins Not Only the Face”, their second album for Matador. The Brighton band are staying true to the sound halfway between shoegaze and gothic-tinged rock of the debut, “Violet Skies”, released last year. Even so, “Deathwaltz”, the first appetiser for the LP, shows the trio's most accessible side, mostly thanks to the dreamy melody. A detail that confirms the words of band leader Daniel Copeman, who said that for this record, they “had a clearer idea of what [they] wanted to achieve on this album, and how [they] could achieve it. [They are] more focused, more confident.” Here we leave you with “Deathwaltz”. The tracklist and artwork are to the right of this article.
