King Creosote & Jon Hopkins' “Diamond Mine” Becomes XXL

Domino Records releases the extended version in April

One of the best and most beautiful albums released in the UK last year, “Diamond Mine” by King Creosote & Jon Hopkins, will soon be reissued in an extended version. Domino has just announced that, on 16th April, it will release a special bonus edition of the album, featuring the three tracks from the “Honest Words EP”, B-side “Missionary” and two new pieces: “Third Swan” (with KT Tunstall on vocal duties) and “Starboard Home”. Moreover, with Record Store Day five days away, the two unreleased tracks can be purchased separately on digital or 7” vinyl.

King Creosote describes the new songs as follows: "Third Swan" is also a comment on how euphoria and despair sit side by side […] there was a lot swirling around my head in the dark weeks leading up to the end of 2011, and it had to end up on this.” About “Starboard Home”, he says that the buffeting by wind and waves on our emotional voyage ['Diamond Mine'] is replaced by the mournful cries of marsh birds and the welcoming voices of our loved ones, the ocean swell swapped for the comforting sight of the harbour lights.”
