Icelandic cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir, known both for her solo work and for her collaborations with experimental electronic artists like Ben Frost, Nico Muhly, Pan Sonic or Throbbing Gristle, has a new album on the way. “ Leyfdu Ijosinu” represents her return to the British label Touch, after the 2010 re-issue of the magnificent “ Mount A” (2006) and her album with Hauschka on Sonic Pieces. The album captures one of Guðnadóttir’s performances at the University of York, offered at the beginning of this year. The concert was recorded with the aid of three microphones and its contents have been left as they were, without manipulation. The release is foreseen for 16th April and you can already listen to or download the first cut from here.
