We still miss Sleater-Kinney, but from their ashes –or perhaps more appropriately, from their deep roots– new projects are blooming. We already told you at the beginning of the summer that the howling Corin Tucker will soon debut with The Corin Tucker Band, formed with Sara Lun (Hungry Ghost, ex Unwound) and Seth Lorinczi (Golden Bears), in a band that regardless of its' member previous groups, most people will still understand as Tucker’s solo debut. And now there's a new baby to count among the Sleater-Kinney offspring: Wild Flag. Formed by Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss (the other two thirds of Sleater-Kinney), the pair will share the stage with two other grand dames of the American independent scene, Mary Timony (who was once the mechanism and soul of Helium) and Rebecca Cole (from The Minders). They are already recording songs that will form the beginnings of their first album, a record that Merge has scheduled for release at the beginning of the next year.
