Walter Gibbons The Blank Generation: Blank Tapes NYC 1975-1985 was an album aimed at re-vindicating the legacy of New York based producer Bob Blank and collaborator of Musique, Inner Life, Salsoul Orchestra, Debby Blackwell, Aural Exciters, Arthur Russell and Sun Ra to name a few. Now the revived Strut label announces another retrospective dedicated to another exponent of the NY underground disco scene. Subtitled “Mixed with Love: Essential & Unreleased Remixes 1976-1986” - Jungle Music,” is a double compilation that includes 14 examples of the re-edit artist Walter Gibbons. A legendary DJ and producer who pioneered the use of reel-to-reel tape as an editing tool to transform and to extend other people’s songs. The album will be released around 20th July through Strut.
