At the end of May, Domino announced they would release the debut album of New Yorkers Twin Sister. Today, we find out that the album will be called “In Heaven”, and will be released on 26th September in Europe and a day later in the U.S. They say that this record will be better, in every way, than the “Color Your Life” EP and that it’ll show a band “ unfettered by limitations - it is them streaking across a highwire under complete and total control.” According to the label, “the songs on In Heaven radiate and glow, a firework show set against a broad black canvas; youthful exuberance echoes throughout. Taken as a whole, In Heaven proves itself a document of endless preparation and excited execution, the fulfilled promise of bliss.”
For now, we can listen to one of the tracks, “Bad Street”, openly embracing the strain of New York mutant disco that worked so well for the likes of LCD Soundsystem and Hercules & Love Affair. To hear the new tunes of heavenly dream-pop so typical of them so far, we’ll have to wait until autumn. In the meantime, here’s the tracklist. And yes, one of the songs is called “Spain”. Inspired by their visit to the country when they played at Primavera Club 2010, maybe?
