The Strokes have finished recording their new album. Julian Casablancas dropped the news yesterday via Twitter in a satisfied and yet incredulous way: “Still not going to be out for a few months-mixing, etc, but JUST finally finished it yesterday actually!?”. Also through their blue bird, Nikolai Fraiture confirmed it a few hours ago: “Yes! It’s true! Strokes IV is finished!! Let’s go partying...!” So, after almost a year and a half of intermittent releases—in the company of Joe Chiccarelli, a collaborator in the past of White Stripes, Beck, The Shins and My Morning Jacket—that revealed certain creative differences among the band members, the fourth long player by the New Yorkers is finally finished. There’s some mixing and mastering left to do, and we presume it’ll be released sometime in the Spring.
