The most famous hip-hop combo to come out of Philadelphia are counting down the hours until the release of their new offering, “How I Got Over”, the ninth album from this group who have been making music together for over two decades. After two albums that were particularly focused on political commentary, Black Thought, Questlove and co. seem to have moved into breezier territory, with a lighter, positive approach on “How I Got Over”. The record features other rap artists ( Blu, P.O.R.N., Dice Raw), contemporary R&B luminaries (John Legend), pop starlets (the Dirty Projectors girls), folk from Joanna Newsom and Jim James from My Morning Jacket . The album will be released tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd June, via Def Jam, and is available to stream in its entirety with the widget below or via MySpace.
UPDATE: Seems like the widget has been modified in the last few hours, so at the moment you can only listen to snippets (long ones, but snippets after all) of the album.
