Taking advantage of the recent re-release of The National’s previous albums –over the summer, Brassland released on vinyl both “The National” (2001) and “Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers” (2003)— 4AD has decided to overhaul the most recent work by Matt Berninger and the Dessner brothers. On 22nd November, the British label will put out a new “expanded edition” of the brilliant “High Violet” (4AD, 2010). Besides the original album, this new version includes a second CD featuring two previously unreleased tracks ( “Wake Up Your Saints” and the already heard “ You Were a Kindness”), B-sides ( “Walk Off” and “Sin-Eaters”), alternative takes (of “Terrible Love”) and live recordings. If you didn’t buy a copy of “High Violet” the first time around, here’s another chance, and this time around, with extras.
