Do you remember this? Well, ahem, only a year later. At least, this time the source of the rumours is more credible and close to the band. The thing is, after more than five years of squabbling, the second album of The Avalanches seems to be on the verge of being finished. At least, that’s what Steven Pavlovic, capo of the Modular label, told The Music Network. According to Pavlovic, the follow-up to the revered “Since I Left You” (Modular, 2000/XL, 2001) has been recorded, and only needs a few more studio touches which shouldn’t delay the release until any time later than early 2012. In his own words: "They’re finished, and they’re celebrating. And they’re going to have a little party to celebrate finishing it. The next stage will see the album go to someone to mix." If everything goes as planned, we’ll be hearing a first sample of the album this autumn. Let’s see if it’s true this time.
