We’ve already talked a lot about the resurgence –or the new wave, for it never left– of acid in the fields of house and techno, and even of experimental music close to noise by way of, for example, Carlos Giffoni and his No Fun Acid project. That same wave drew the attention of young Alex Rhida, until recently the champion of electro-house under the moniker Boys Noize. Rhida has decided to collect twelve acid influenced cuts on a compilation album called “Super Acid”. Jan Driver, Siriusmo, Erol Alkan, Shadow Dancer, Feadz and Boys Noize share the credits of an album which will be released by Boysnoize Records on 31st January, on CD and double 12” vinyl. While everybody present shares similar inspiration, the record doesn’t feature the same sounds. According to the press release, "Some of the producers on this compilation spent their time with all kinds of analogue gear and mixers to have the original 'warm' sound they love and some others just use a fucking laptop. Some, well most, of the producers on this compilation have used the classic Roland 303, some used a 303 clone, a 303 plug-in and some even rocked the 303 iPhone app." Every way is a good way to show your love for acid sounds.
