Ben Chasny is a workaholic. Granted, 2010 hasn’t seen an album by his main project, but he did put out four in 2009 –counting splits and CD-Rs– under the Six Organs Of Admittance moniker. Since then, he’s worked with Sir Richard Bishop and Chris Corsano as Rangda. He also started a new project with Elisa Ambrogio of Magik Markers, with whom he’d collaborated before in Basalt Fingers, all guitar assaults, called 200 Years. Chasny and Ambrogio are now working on the songs for their first album, to be released in the spring of 2011. Before that, in February, Drag City will release the new effort by Six Organs of Admittance, “Asleep On The Floodplain”. According to the press release, Chasny has returned to relaxed home-recording, temporarily leaving aside his dealings with drone noise and dense psychedelica in order to return to eminently acoustic territories. In stores from 22nd February.
