There’s good and bad news for the attendees of San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011. First, the bad news: British band The Vaccines, causing such a stir with their album debut, have cancelled their gig because they’ll be on tour in the US with Arctic Monkeys. And The Annuals won’t be performing, either, for reasons that are unspecified but outside the control of the organisation. But here’s the good news: the line-up isn’t yet complete. They already said so on their blog and now it’s confirmed: there will be new names shortly. They’ve just returned from SXSW, so maybe we can expect some of the artists who made waves in Austin? We’ll know soon enough.
And the good news doesn’t end there. One of the bands already confirmed have given out new details about their performance. New York legends Suicide will do a gig focussing on their first eponymous album, an absolute landmark record for both the electronica world and scholars of the early New York punk scene.
On the San Miguel Primavera Sound homepage you can also find a trailer of the event. Daily tickets are available at 70 euros plus costs, and the complete festival ticket at 175 euros plus booking fess. You can get them here.
