Once again it’s Ed O'Brien, the band’s guitarist, who has commented on Radiohead’s immediate future. Five months after announcing their return to the recording studio, O'Brien confirmed on to BBC 6 Music yesterday that the follow up to “ In Rainbows ” (XL/ATO, 2007) is almost completed. He said, the recording of the new album is be completed in a couple of weeks and is on target for a release before the end of this year. The question is: will the new album continue the themes and processes introduced on “In Rainbows”? No, according to O'Brien. He said this is the best record they have created to date and is very different to the last one. The intrigue is set.
