The Bedroom Community family is growing. And like good brothers do, the oldies give a big welcome to the newbies. Puzzle Muteson is an enigmatic songwriter from the Isle of Wight and his songs, intimate fingerpicking exercises featuring harps, strings and a taciturn and trembling voice, have conquered the heart of Valgeir Sigurðsson, Ben Frost, Daníel Bjarnason, Sam Amidon and Nico Muhly. And it’s precisely Sigurðsson and Muhly who have dressed up the folk songs Puzzle sent them on tape last year. Those tapes, arranged and re-recorded at the Greenhouse Studios on Iceland, are now turned into “En Garde”, a debut album released by Bedroom Community on 6th June (Europe) and 7th July (rest of the world). As a first view on the laidback and bucolic world of Puzzle Muteson, here we leave you with the title track of the album, available as a single as from 23rd May.
