The Barcelona club Razzmatazz is celebrating a birthday. As they will blowing out ten candles this year, they’ve prepared a special program for the second half of the year featuring LCD Soundsystem, Aphex Twin, Suede and Primal Scream. The presence of Bobby Gillespie’s band will have an extra significance. Looking ahead to the twentieth anniversary of the release of their great album, Primal Scream are presenting three special concerts where they will re-live “Screamadelica” (Creation, 1991), a milestone in the history of British pop and one of the best examples of the crossover from rock to dance music (well deserved credit goes to Andrew Weatherall and Hugo Nicholson as the producers of the album), rising out of the summer of love and the acid house explosion. On 27th November, Primal Scream will also be playing “Screamadelica” at the Olympia in London (find tickets here). But before that, with the 10th anniversary of Razzmatazz in mind, Gillespie’s guys will be doing it in Madrid (19th November at La Riviera) and Barcelona (20th November in Razzmatazz 1). Tickets for both these dates will be on sale next Thursday, 2nd September, through salarazzmatazz.com, www.ticketmaster.es and www.entradas.com . Historic dates indeed.
