“Arkives (1993-2010)”, the great retrospective box by Richie Hawtin as Plastikman, is getting closer. Given the fact that it’s a very exclusive object, and will be manufactured to order (that is, there won’t be any more copies other than those with a final addressee, and we already know that the possibility of a future re-edition is not in Minus’s plans), we’d like to insist on the different available formats of a package that will compile 17 years of Plastikman’a history and that will also define his future.
If you want a copy of the very limited edition of “Arkives” for your record collection, you’ll have to pre-order before 31st December on the artist’s website. You can choose among the following formats:
Arkives Reference: 11 CD's +1 DVD + 1 Book.
This deluxe pack includes 12 CDs plus a 64-page book narrating Plastikman’s history, including a generous selection of archive pictures. All Plastikman’s official albums have been remastered. “Reference” includes 5 CDs gathering rarities and previously unreleased material.
“Rekonstruktions” includes hard-to-find classic Plastikman remixes by artists like La Funk Mob, System 7, New Order, Depeche Mode and Hardfloor, along with an unreleased remix by his side project Robotman.
“Replikants” features new remixes especially commissioned for this project by admired artists like Hawtin. Vince Clarke, Cliff Martínez, François Kevorkian, Moby, Chris & Cosey, Severed Heads, Flood, and Daniel Miller & Gareth Jones.
“Nostagik” includes previously unreleased rarities, only-vinyl editions and bonus tracks.
There’re also 2 CDs containing more unreleased material, like the complete, unheard-of recording season of “Spastik” and an unpublished John Peel session. The second CD features “Slinky”, a new track presented as the new Plastikman single.
Arkives Analog: Six 180-gram vinyl pieces in a deluxe custom box + 1 poster .
: limited online-only version of both Reference and Analog.
