Optimo presents:

Muzikal Yooth

Muzikal Yooth Optimo EspacioThey closed down the legendary Optimo (Espacio), but as JG Wilkes and JD Twitch said back then, one of their motivations when putting an end to their Sunday sessions at Glasgow’s Sub Club was to have more time to carry out other projects. After their contribution to Fabric’s mix-CD series and the reactivation of their label (in September they released a vinyl edition of Chris Carter’s “The Space Between”, originally put out in 1980 via Industrial Records), the bosses of Optimo have just dropped some (vague) details about their next venture. This is how they explain it:

“Ever wanted to hear a bunch of kids tearing into the Stooges “I Wanna Be Your Dog” and the sublime garage classic “Louie Louie”? Ever wondered what it would sound like if you let an assortment of talented young musicians from some of Glasgow finest new bands loose in a studio to record whatever they liked? And how about two 10 year old twins from Possil (via Ghana) covering the infectious minimal dance grooves of New York’s finest, ESG? “Hells bells…your wait is over!”

This, along with a first song (the cover version Green Door Kids have made of ESG’s “Moody” ) and a release date (23rd November) is all you have until fresh details are provided. The Green Door Kids - “Moody”
