Initially, the new EP by Offshore (who also goes by the name Ewan Robertson) for Big Dada, was going to be out in July, but the producer has delayed the release, forcing the Ninja Tune sub-label to postpone “Pacer EP” to 1st August. A third single will follow, probably in early autumn, as an appetiser for his first album, which in turn will come out early 2012. It’s best not to put any more pressure on the boy over the summer, which will start next week with an important gig as part of the Ninja Tune showcase at Sónar (you can still get tickets here). All in all, Offshore has taken time to prepare a pre-listening set of the five tracks on “Pacer EP”. You’ll hear the passion the young man has for the hip-hop of the past decade in his mixing of all kinds of ingredients, from precious IDM to sounds from the hardcore continuum.
Offshore will be appearing at Sónar 2011. The Festival will take place from 16 th to 18th June at the CCCB in Barcelona, the Fira Gran Via in L’Hospitalet, L’Auditori in Barcelona and the Teatre Grec in Barcelona. Tickets are on sale here.
