Of Montreal

Against fake representatives

Of MontrealAfter flirting recently with Solange (you know, Beyoncé’s little sister) and Janelle Monáe (both are returning the favour, twice in the case of the latter), Kevin Barnes and his theatre of pop cohorts return to attend to personal business. “False Priest” is an album loaded with “danceable funky songs,” on which Of Montreal have been working for some time now, and which now has a release date. The record, co-produced by Jon Brion and Barnes himself between Athens and Los Angeles, will be released around 13th September (a day later in the U.S.) via Polyvinyl. For a first meeting with the “False Priest”, the band are offering a download of the first single, “Coquet Coquette”, through a this mini-site. Those of you that would like to pre-order the album (the red clear vinyl edition is limited to 2000 copies) can do so here.
