It seems like it was yesterday, but it’s been a good 18 months since small label Lefse released Neon Indian’s acclaimed debut album. Since then, Alan Palomo has kept our attention with videos, remixes, alternative versions and reissues of those same songs, but there has hardly been any new material. As we imagined, Palomo has used the time between his gigs to work on the follow-up to “Psychic Chasms” (Lefse, 2010). Now, thanks to GvsB, we know that Neon Indian’s second album is already recorded. The better part of the new material was recorded in Helsinki, which is where the images in the video below are shot. Director Sean Lopez follows Palomo on his way through the city while parts of “Heart: Attack”, a song described as a “three-part instrumental movement” that appears on the as of yet untitled new record, sound in the background. The album is due to be released this Autumn.
