He lives in sunny Barcelona, but his tentacles as an audiovisual artist reach the very centre of the Los Angeles electronic scene. My Dry Wet Mess has signed his name to the second album released by Magical Properties, a young record label run by the Darlingtons (that is, Daedelus and his wife), with the logistical support of Alpha Pup and Brainfeeder. It seems like Daedalus, a master of physical and interactive live performances using his Monome, fell in love with the music My Dry Wet Mess (he seems to have chosen interaction design for his professional career) played in a performance in Los Angeles during the presentation of an “audio reactive” software he himself has designed. So far we only know the album is called “Irrational Alphabet” and features ten or so tracks expressing My Dry Wet Mess’ particular version—tempered, seeking to create an atmosphere and develop melodies which follow the precious pattern of the most self-controlled IDM—of modern bass music.
As a first contact with the music of My Dry Wet Mess, we’re giving you “Yours Truly” and a short promo video teaser. If you want further info about the tastes and influences of this novel producer, click here to download his recent contribution of a mixtape series by Friends of Friends.
