“Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will”. This is the “nice” title Mogwai have chosen for their new full-length album, the 10th of their discography. It will be released via Sub Pop in the U.S. and on their own label, Rock Action, in Europe. We’re not sure whether the album’s title alludes to hardcore in music or pornography, but the second part of the sentence… we surely understand that. The band is at the moment mixing the album with Paul Savage, former drummer of The Delgados, also responsible for the production of an album that, to cap it all, will see the light on 14th February, on Saint Valentine’s Day. Just a day before that, the band will start a UK tour in Belfast that will also take them to the continent. Having their collector fans in mind, the band will release a special edition of the album including a CD with “The Singing Mountain”, a 26-minute-long sort of symphony thought as the musical complement to “Monument for Forgotten Future”, an art installation by Douglas Gordon and Olaf Nicolai on show at the Emscherkunst project, in the outskirts of the German city of Essen.
