Since his death, the ill-fated Michael Jackson has not stopped being a money-making machine. Ten days ago, Forbes magazine placed him on top of their list of “ Top-earning dead celebrities”, with more than $275 millions earned during 2009. That amount will increase significantly very soon thanks to “Michael”, the first in a series of posthumous albums that Columbia/Epic (Sony Music Entertainment) is planning to release between now and 2017.
The album, simply titled “Michael”, will be out just before Christmas (on 14th December to be precise) via Epic. According to the press release, "fans will get mind-blowing insight into how this artist worked and a chance to hear the songs he most recently created, along with tracks that Michael had a desire to bring to fruition."
While waiting for the definite tracklist of “Michael”, we can at least enjoy the cover artwork by Kadir Nelson, and listen for the first single, “Breaking News”, available on the artists’ official website as of 8th November. Pre-order here.
