Details about their second album

Memory Tapes – “Player Piano”

Memory Tapes, Dayve Hawk’s dream pop project, has just revealed some details about this second album, “Player Piano”. As we were told last month, the follow-up to “Seek Magic” (Acéphale/SIC, 2009) will be out on 5th July via Carpark (USA), Something in Construction (Europe) and Inertia (Australia). Now, the twelve “keyboard-based psychedelic girl-group songs” have a name (check out the tracklist to the right of this article) and a pretty face (beautiful sleeve art by reputed Japanese artist Kazuki Takamatsu). “Today Is Your Life”, the track also included on the compilation “Love Sic Disco” (Something In Construction, 2011), will be part of the album but it won’t be the first single. That would be “Wait In The Dark”, which sounds closer to Hawk’s usual synthetic pop sound. Here we leave you with the song, so you can get an idea of what “Player Piano” will sound like.
