The story of MODA started in 2006 in a loft in Lincoln. People started to attend the label-free parties en masse and, as expected, word to mouth did the rest. Over time, the parties started to diversify, conquering bigger audiences and new places, particularly in England, but also in Europe, like at Space in Ibiza, where for the past three years, thousands of night birds attended their parties every Sunday. After years building an immaculate curriculum, the concept/party/label initiated by BBC Radio 1 DJs Jaymo & Andy George, Tom Staar and Ben (of Toy Tigers) have decided to release their first compilation. The album, “Moda Music Volume 1”, will consist of two CDs true to their style. While the first one will introduce us to new talents and some of Moda’s discoveries (like Monarchy and Fenech-Soler), the second disc, mixed for the occasion by Jaymo & Andy George themselves, will be focussed on the dancefloor, taking no prisoners. The album will be released on 23rd May, and you can pre-order it here.
Moda’s next live date in London will be at XOYO on Friday 20th May, with Mylo, Aeroplane, Clouds, Screendeath, Crystal Fighters (DJ Set), Jaymo & Andy George, and Tom Staar. Tickets are £10-15 and available here.
