Little Scream

Debut album “The Golden Record”

Little Scream On the Montreal music scene, chanteuse Laurel Sprengelmeyer, alias Little Scream has been a household name for some time now. With her rep established at home, it’s now time to conquer the rest of the world. There’s no lack of endorsement for young Sprengelmeyer, starting with her intimate and sweet voice, and following that up with the backing of a prestigious label like Secretly Canadian. The pseudo Canadians (the label is based in Bloomington, Indiana) will release Little Scream’s debut album around 12th April. The record will be called “The Golden Record”, and contains ten well-tuned, intimate folk-pop songs, at times orchestrally adorned and playing with more experimental atmospheres. If you need more names to convince you of the quality of the music, we can tell you Richard Reed Parry and Sarah Neufeld (both members of Arcade Fire and Bell Orchestra), Mike Feuerstack (Snailhouse), Becky Foon (Silver Mt. Zion), Patty McGee (Stars) and Aaron Dessner from The National (part of the album wass recorded in his garage in New York) are amongst the players who have made “The Golden Record” possible.

As a taster, you can download “The Heron and the Fox”, the first single from the album, here. The guitars are courtesy of Dressner.{soundcloud}{/soundcloud}{vimeo width="100%" height="270"}7685824{/vimeo}
