LCD Soundsystem vs. Paperclip People

The two sides of a coin

LCD SoundsystemIf we conducted a poll among LCD Soundsystem fans with the aim of pinning down the highlights of their most recent tours (we’re referring to their repertoire, the most brilliant moments on their set list, and not so much to their more or less fortunate nights), many would probably choose “Throw”, a cover version that has shined on the New York band’s shows over the past two years as much as their own best songs. “Throw” is an adaptation of a song by Carl Craig’s Paperclip People and will soon see the light of day on a physical format. Craig himself—a fan of the version by James Murphy and co.—has decided to gather on a 12” his version of “Throw” alongside LCD Soundsystem’s (so far only available as a digital bonus on the special iTunes version of “This Is Happening”. Although the absolute release date hasn’t been confirmed, it’s expected to arrive sometime at the end of October through Planet E.
