Drums, bass and synths are the cornerstones of K-X-P, the trio led by Finnish Timo Kaukolampi (who some will know as Annie’s right hand when it comes to song-writing and production) and built on the ashes of his previous bands Op:l Bastards and And The Lefthanded. Their dark and dense amalgamation of Kraut rock elements, psychedelics, electronic proto-punk, mutant disco and no-wave has had them compared to Silver Apples, This Heat, 23 Skidoo, NEU! and Suicide, while people like Optimo can’t find enough words to praise them. Four years after starting up in Helsinki, K-X-P finally release their debut album via Smalltown Supersound. The self-titled disc will be in stores from 20th July.
