Jay-Z + Dr. Dre Jay-Z is back with yet another surprise. Last year he signed a deal with Spiegel & Grau (a company belonging to publishing house Random House) to launch a book devoted to explaining the lyrics of his most famous songs. The book, presented as “a collection of lyrics and their meanings that together tell the story of a culture, an art form, a moment in history, and one of the most provocative and successful artists of our time,” is entitled “Decoded” and will hit the shops on 16th November, in paper and eBook versions, along with applications for iPhone and iPad. Moreover, Jay-Z and Warren Buffett share the cover of the annual issue Forbes magazine dedicates to the 400 biggest fortunes in the U.S. Jigga isn’t included on the list (although his is a success story in the business world for being the biggest money generator in hip hop circles, his fortune doesn’t compare to those in the 500). On a different note, another rap star, Dr. Dre , continues to extend his line of products for sale. Even though a definite release date for “Detox” hasn’t yet been confirmed, he hasn’t stopped launching new merchandise: after putting out his line of high-end earphones ( Beats by Dr. Dre) and designing a laptop for Hewlett-Packard, the HP Envy 15 Beats model, the author of “The Chronic” has just released his own brand of… Cognac! Aftermath Cognac is supported economically by Interscope, Geffen and A&M Records.
