His “ Klavierwerke EP” (R&S, 2010) is still very fresh (in fact, it’s not available in many stores yet), and it’s expanding wave promises to stretch far. However, here’s James Blake announcing a new reference for November. A nude and beating version of Feist’s “Limit to Your Love” has been available online for a while, a cut that is closer to intimate and minimal pop than to any post-dubstep derivation, with vocals playing a central role. According to Pitchfork, this song is the first single off Blake’s debut album, which is as yet without an official name, that should see the light of day in early 2011. This version of Feist, supported, we assume, by some other original song (the tracklist hasn’t yet been revealed, but we know Blake has never included remixes on his releases so far), is out on 8th November via ATLAS Record s. More details soon.
