In late 2009, three Londoners introduced themselves to the world with two tracks on Hit Club Records ( “When O’ When” and “Seasick Mutiny”) that were very well received. Since then, Is Tropical have been getting the public and the music press on side in their home country, thanks to some incendiary live shows full of escapist pop that have seen them support Klaxons and Mystery Jets. With those references and a fistful of tracks oscillating between post-punk and electro-pop, Is Tropical are now making their album debut. On 13th June, Kitsuné (in collaboration with Cooperative Music) will release “Native To”, an album full of potential singles that should allow them to take over the baton from, say, Two Door Cinema Club. Those who don’t yet know what the band sounds like can download one of their songs, “The Greeks”, here.
