Grinderman, the parallel project to The Bad Seeds of Nick Cave, Martyn P. Casey ( The Triffids), Warren Ellis ( The Dirty Three) and Jim Sclavunos ( 8-Eyed Spy, The Cramps), is howling once more. The second album from a band “of a certain bad breath, raucous, hairy, condemned and old enough to know better” (this is how they described themselves circa their first album), will be available on 13th September through Mute (in Europe) and Anti- (in the U.S.). We know very little of “Grinderman 2”, only that it was recorded in London last summer with the help of Nick Launay. If we take into account what Warren Ellis told The Quietus , “... it’s kind of like stoner rock meets Sly Stone via Amon Düül. It’s very diverse, and there’s a lot of stuff on there that doesn’t sound like anything we’ve done before.” The band will spend a good part of the Autumn touring through Europe and we have the first confirmed dates here.
