Yesterday, when talking about the download of “Blue Cassette”, we said the streaming of Friendly Fires’s new album was announced for this week. Turns out it’s today. Courtesy of Hype Machine, you can now listen to the exciting new effort of the melody and rhythm machine driven by Ed McFarlane, Jack Savidge and Edd Gibson. The album, recorded in England, France and New York and produced by the band and Paul Epworth, is inspired by the “idea of paradise which ultimately will never last.” In the words of McFarlane, that image “was a good symbol for the record, about living for the here and now and appreciating every moment. I think it applies to my life quite a lot. We don't know how long this band is going to last so you have to make the most of it while you can.” So there you go, carpe diem to the rhythm of Friendly Fires. The album will be out on 16th May on XL Recordings.
Remember Friendly Fires will be playing at the upcoming Festival Internacional de Benicàssim . You can get your tickets here .
